Rescued Sea Turtles

Last December I posted about Loggerhead Marinelife Center and a rescued sea turtle named Gilda(see photo). She had been hit by a boat propeller and was severely injured. Gilda endured many surgeries and now has been moved across the state for physical therapy. As soon as she is strong enough, she will be returned back here and set free on the beach where she was born. The above sea turtle is not Gilda but another successful rescue, soon to be released to the sea.

A unique bicycle at the beach

There was a nip in the air yesterday and we had just finished up our Christmas shopping, so we decided to stop by the inlet to check out the beach...
and what to our wondering eyes should appear right next to the 'No stopping, No standing, No parking' sign... this nice young fellow and his unique red bicycle, that he had custom build for himself. I asked if he minded me taking his picture and with a kind smile he said "yes, go right ahead" ... I thanked him and wished him a 'great day', he replied with "have a Happy Holiday and a wonderful day too".
